Laura, I work as Toronto realtor so I don’t know the situation in Los Angeles, but sure, there are some universal tips that might be helpful. They are all listed in numerous blogs all over the web, but ther is one very important, that might save you a lot of time and money - Get an Agent! ,the complexicity of Selling/buying house is huge and I reckon: Get a professional.
