Nearly all of its 300 workers at the Hotel Bel Air will lose their jobs next month because of a multimillion-dollar project to modernize all guest rooms, suites, the restaurant and bar and add 12 hillside villas. The last day the hotel will be open is September 30, 2009. (Photo courtesy L.A. Times)
